GUEST SPEAKER
JESSICA RAE VOS
Jessica is a passionate, proven leader with a diverse background in aerospace systems engineering, project management, human health & performance and life coaching. Born and raised in the remote state of Alaska, she grew up with an innate appreciation for human survival in extreme environments. After graduating as co-valedictorian from Chugiak High School in 1997, she pursued a BS in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. Her engineering career began as a cooperative education student in the Fall of 1999 at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. In this role she quickly became enthralled with the design and development of the unique, complex life support systems that enable the “human” aspect of space exploration. Jessica spent her early career supporting the Advanced Spacesuit Systems Development Laboratory, where she led multidisciplinary teams in the execution of human-in-the-loop evaluations in various spaceflight analog environments and developed innovative approaches to assessing human performance in a spacesuit. She has since been recognized for her outstanding contributions and leadership over multiple teams and integrated projects. Jessica currently supports the Safety & Mission Assurance Directorate at JSC as the Orion Crew & Service Module Technical Representative and is responsible for managing government and contractor teams to execute system-level trades, identify and mitigate risk, and resolve complex design challenges to ensure Orion can safely perform crewed missions in cis-lunar space.
Jessica holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Fitness & Human Performance from University of Houston, Clear Lake. She is also the founder of Brilliant By Nature Coaching, LLC and an ACE-certified Group Fitness Instructor. Jessica fuels her adventurous spirit with travel, hiking/backpacking, and half-marathon races across the U.S.! She is also the mother of two wonderfully crazy, joy-sparking kiddos (ages 15 & 12) and currently resides in Seabrook, TX.
